Texas Family Initiative LLC (TFI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jose B. Yerena as the new Vice President of Foster Care for Texas and Oklahoma. With more than 20 years of experience in child welfare, Yerena is projected to make a significant impact on TFI’s Texas and Oklahoma Foster Care Programs.

As a macro-level practitioner, Yerena focuses on addressing systemic issues and promoting social change at community, state and even national levels. He is also a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator and holds a Master of Social Work from UT Arlington, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UT Brownsville.
Yerena’s previous background spans across government and non-profit settings, with a focus on program assessment, evaluation and implementation. He is proficient in budget development and oversight, policy development and implementation, strategic management and optimization of resources and staff coaching and development.
Yerena will oversee both TFI’s Texas and Oklahoma Foster Care Programs, where he will focus on compliance, child safety, quality of care and growth.
When asked what his vision was for the future, he said, “To become the leading foster care program in Texas and Oklahoma by focusing on compliance, child safety and quality of care.”
