New Chief of Staff brings wealth of Texas child welfare knowledge to Role
Wichita Falls, TX – The Family Initiative, Inc. (TFI) is pleased to announce Angela L. Nowell as the new Chief of Staff.
Prior to serving in this new capacity, Nowell served as Texas Family Initiative’s Senior Administrator for Texas programs for more than two years. She brings 26 years of experience in childcare regulation, foster care administration and program development to the Chief of Staff role. Before working at TFI, she served in leadership roles in Texas foster care, and before that, worked for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) for more than 15 years.
“Angela is a very decisive and knowledgeable leader, who has comprehensive knowledge in child welfare,” said Michael Patrick, TFI CEO and President. “She has been instrumental in improving the quality of care for our children and families, and we know she will continue to serve the agency well in this new position.”
As the Chief of Staff, Nowell will be responsible for assisting with strategic planning, project management and program development for the TFI parent company. She will also continue to oversee development of TFI’s Blue Skies Residential Facility in Wichita Falls, TX. She will work out of the TFI Irving office.
Nowell received dual Bachelor’s in History and Social Science from Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. She received her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). In addition, she also holds a Graduate Certificate from UTA in Public Budgeting and Financial Management.
