Successful golf fundraiser benefits Texas children and youth in foster care

Texas golf tournament

Dallas, TX – Texas Family Initiative LLC (TFI Texas) played host to its second annual golf fundraising tournament this past week at Timarron Country Club.

The Tee Off FORE Texas Kids tournament, which was the first event for TFI Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, featured 17 teams and 68 total participants. The event raised more than $35,000, and all proceeds will benefit local children in foster care.

“The generosity of our donors not only made a significant impact on the lives of the kids we serve, but it reminds us of the kindness and goodness in the world,” said TFI Texas Fund Development Director Steven Mandeville. “We are grateful for the support and belief in our mission.”

The Miller Group was the title sponsor for the fundraiser with many other teams generously sponsoring as well. TFI Texas is one of the largest family service providers in the state of Texas. TFI currently employs approximately 400 staff in Texas, who in FY 22, served approximately 2,224 Texas children in foster care. EMPOWER, a child welfare collaborative led by TFI Texas, recently received the Community-Based Care (CBC) contract in Metroplex East—a nine county region which includes Dallas and surrounding communities. EMPOWER will oversee foster care, case management, kinship, and reunification services.
